Kaigi o shite imasu ka. |
Hisho: |
Iie, suraido o mite imasu. |

Dōmo. |
Sumisu-san wa kaigi-shitsu desuraido o mite imasu.
Hayashi: |

No he isn’t. He’s in the conference room on the third floor. |

1. The present progressive is expressed as follows: verb –TE + IMASU. This construction expresses either action that is presently going on or action that regularly takes place.
e.g. SUMISU-SAN WA MAISHŪ TAIMU O YONDE IMASU. “Mr. Smith reads Time every week.”
There is also the past progressive.
e.g. KINŌ NO GOGO NANI O SHITE IMASHITA KA. “What were you doing yesterday afternoon?”
2. DŌMO is a colloquial shortening of DŌMO ARIGATŌ. “Thank you so much.” It is also used widely as an abbreviation of DŌMO SUMIMASEN, “I’m sorry.” It is not especially polite.
